The Chair in Family Business, part of the University of Seville, is the result of an agreement between the University of Seville, the Santander Group (Universities), and the Institute of Family Business.
Founded in early 2001, the primary aim of the University of Seville’s Santander Chair in Family Business is analysis and research and the teaching of the reality, the various perspectives and the specific nature of family business. This is achieved through the development and promotion of teaching, investigation and dissemination and the provision of services related to family business.
The Chair’s specific aims are the following:
To develop a teaching program that will improve the education of students at Seville University with regard to the reality and management of family business.
To develop and disseminate high quality research themes and investigation into family firms that will have an international impact.
To carry out and promote studies, analyses and reports on the reality of family business in Seville.
To offer high level services to Seville’s family firms (tailored training programs, diagnostic services, strategic orientations, etc.)
To disseminate the importance of family business in its social context, promoting the culture of excellence in this type of firm and highlighting it as a source of wealth and employment.
To collaborate with as many public and private institutions as possible in order to achieve these aims.
