Open 2-year post-doctoral position in nuclear structure at the LPSC Grenoble
The nuclear-structure group of the LPSC Grenoble is looking for candidates to fill an open 2-year post-doctoral position. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing (simulating) a novel in-beam electron detector, called INES. This work performed in collaboration with partner institutes, including IRFU.
This detector is foreseen to be used at GANIL (SPIRAL-2), and other international laboratories, with the aim of performing electron spectroscopy of rare nuclei to study shell evolution and shape coexistence far from stability. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in other projects focused on understanding the structure of exotic nuclei.
Applicants should hold a recent PhD in nuclear structure, or be expected to obtain it soon, and have experience of Geant4 simulations (or equivalent Monte-Carlo programs), in-beam gamma and electron spectroscopy, and associated instrumentation.
Interested candidates should upload a CV, a brief letter of motivation and a list of three referees before the end of July to https://emploi.cnrs.fr/Offres/CDD/UMR5821-CHRVEL-027/Default.aspx?lang=EN (click on "postuler")
